Sample Commissioning Service

Our hope is that people will embark on their mission trip with a culturally sensitive attitude and a servant's heart.  Training and debriefing really make a difference between going on a trip together, and having a life changing spiritual experience together.  We are asking each group leader to set up a time with their group to work through the training materials.  (IDEA:  If a number of groups in the same geographic area want to get together and invite Pat to come and do the training with your group, that might be a possibility.  If you want to try this, just contact us to see if we can schedule a date for the event.)  The training for your teams should be complete prior to leaving for the mission trip.  Please have each mission trip participant that attends the training session sign the training certification sheet and the send, scan, or fax it back to the CAN-DO Mission's office.  Even if you are a mission trip junkie, it never hurts to go through the training one more time, and you can actually help others understand the material from your first hand experience.

Note:  Some groups have had success in setting up a weekend retreat where the participants have more time to get to know each other as well as cover the training materials.  Spending time together in God's Word before you go is really a blessing!  Some groups have monthly meetings to prepare and form a team.  Find what works for your group, and git 'r done! God bless you!
