Texas Ramp Project

The Texas Ramp Project started more than 20 years ago in Dallas, and now is spread throughout Texas. Since 1985 volunteers have been building wheelchair ramps to allow needy handicapped people get out of their homes.

“Our health care system can provide battery powered wheelchairs but it does not provide ramps to allow the recipients to get them out of their homes” says John Laine, Director. And that is what this project is all about!

You will help to build wheelchair ramps for people with severe health issues, predominantly minorities, not well educated, and lacking financial resources allowing these individuals and their caregivers to lead much more normal and productive lives! You will also have opportunities to share Christ with these people through word and deed!

If you as an individual, or a group of people from your church, would like to help build ramps on Saturday mornings in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio or Austin, please contact Texas Ramp Project through their website: www.texasramps.org.
